SYNOPSIS
Johnny and Kark fight it out.

FIRSTS & LASTS
First time that a Strontium Dog story has reached six parts. First mention of cucumbers.

INFORMATION
On the planet Nykos, the Wolrog Empire destroys eight Sandorian strongholds.

JOHNNY ALPHA
He takes the Sandorian defence plan back to the Wolrog battlecraft and smuggles it to the Nuke-Torps hanger. There he and Sergeant Kark fight and the sergeant is killed.

WULF STERNHAMMER
He helps Johnny get to the Nuke-Torps hanger.

THE GRONK
During Johnny's fight with Kark, he threatens to bite the sergeant's ankles.

OTHER CHARACTERS
SERGEANT KARK
He follows Johnny, Wulf and the Gronk to the Nuke-Torps hanger. He and Johnny fight, but Kark's metal claws pierce a power cable and he is killed.

DEATHS
One. Kark is electrocuted when his metal claws pierce a power cable.

BEST LINES
Gronk: "N-nuke-torps! B-b-but Mr. Johnny, sir, they's suicide shipses! T-they has n-nuclear warheads in the n-noses!"

CATCHPHRASES
Kark howls "Hrrrr!" four times, "Hrrrrrrr!" and "Haaarrr!" once each, joins in on a Wolrog songs that ends with a chorus of "Hrrrraaaaooo..!" and dies with a "Hrrrraaahhhh!", but not before claims to be "smart as cucumber", a move that will create a catchphrase for someone else. Wulf says der, vell, vill, Volrog and Vulf. The Gronk pluralises "Wolrogses", "shipses", "heartses" and "ankleses".

REVIEW
Thus far in the story Sergeant Kark has had more to do than any of the regular characters. The recipient of some great characterisation goes out in style and the fight between Johnny and Kark is great.
